Happy birthday DeVante Swing!

September 29, 2017

Today is Donald Earle DeGrate Jr.'s birthday, a.k.a DeVante Swing. While K-Ci and JoJo led the vocals and Dalvin rounded out the group, DeVante was the backbone of Jodeci.

DeVante also signed various artists under his Swing Mob label, who would later become musical giants themselves. Known as Da Bassment, this collective consisted of Timbaland (whom Devante renamed from DJ Timmy Tim), Missy Elliott, Tweet, Magoo, Ginuwine, Static Major, Playa and many more.

Salute to this multi-talented man.
